Community Building
Shabbat Dinners
Food allows us to build a bridge between people and culture, bringing communities together in an intentional way.
The location of these events will serve as neighborhood introductions for potential residents, eliminating the gap between perceptions and reality.
Overall, this series demonstrates care for the neighborhood and increases exposure through a Jewish and neighborhood lens.
Stroller Club
Central to community building is providing opportunities for dialogue and exploration in natural environments.
With walking prompts, food provided, and the only requirement being to ‘stroll’, participants will find new connections to Mezuzah, to NW Goldberg, and to each other.
Overall, this series will serve as a family-friendly, pet-friendly, open-to-all event that will double as a neighborhood tour for potential residents.
Showcase Series
As an organization, we strive to strengthen community through partnerships. In this context, Mezuzah will work with different partners to provide Jewish Detroiters with a toolkit that they can use to root themselves in Detroit.
This series will pair Mezuzah with a Jewish organization in Detroit that provides a resource and assists in advancing Mezuzah’s mission.
